Slade has a B.S. in Toxicology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Louisiana at Monroe.  After relocating to the Northern Virginia area in 1997, Ms. Slade joined Dowell & Dowell as a patent researcher. Ms. Slade’s experience includes patentability, infringement, clearance, validity and invalidity searching and in a wide variety of subjects, such as sunscreen formulations, cleaning compositions, medical instruments and general mechanical devices.  After becoming a Patent Agent in 2003 Ms. Slade's duties have expanded to include patent prosecution, international filings and maintaining maintenance fee information.
